Another charming silver and silver gilt novelty surprise mushroom by Christopher Nigel Lawrence. The domed textured silver and silver gilt mushroom cap lifts off to reveal a silver gilt elf and fairy sitting at a table pulling a Christmas cracker. There are various silver gilt items on and presents at the foot of the table. The textured bulbous silver gilt stem has a scalloped silver collar at its base which leads to a slate base.
The mushroom is hallmarked by the London Assay Office for silver and for 1979. It is also stamped 68/250 being a limited edition number 68 of 250.
